Our Story
It all started in the fall of 2021 when we both joined the MTU Water Polo Club. And the rest is history… Just kidding! In reality, we didn’t start talking much until Will discovered that Anna was Lutheran. That little detail certainly caught his attention!
Determined to make a move, Will tried—twice—to invite Anna to church. Unfortunately, both times happened to be the Sunday before finals week, which, as you can imagine, wasn’t the best timing. Seeing his friend struggle, the Best Man gave Will a much-needed push as he returned for his final semester at Tech.
Finally, on January 10th, 2023, Will sent a message asking Anna to church that Sunday. Two days later, while Will was in the middle of his church’s Bible study, Anna replied with a yes! (Ask him for the full story!)
Will and Anna met in the fall of 2021 after joining the MTU Water Polo Club. Will had years of polo experience, while Anna just decided to show up. Once Anna got over how intimating Will was, they began to become friends.
Will found out Anna was Lutheran, he was even more determined to get to know her. On the other hand, Anna had a crush on Will, but was clueless and confused about the invitations to go to church with him.
Eventually, Anna agreed to go with him. After church, they went to Miners Cafe and talked for hours afterwards. Neither was expecting the “not date” to go as well as it did, but were very happy to do it again as a real date.
